ZKProof Research Center is a non-profit research institution that develops foundational technologies for zero-knowledge proofs and explores the application of this technology in blockchain. Simultaneously, it aims to promote awareness and beneficial use of zero-knowledge proof technology among academia, industry, and the general public.
What is Zero-Knolwedge Proof?
Zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) technology is a cryptographic method that allows one party, the prover, to prove to another party, the verifier, that they have specific information or knowledge without revealing the details of that information. The term "zero-knowledge" emphasizes that, during the proof process, the prover reveals zero information about the actual content of the knowledge being proven. The verifier is only convinced of the validity of the statement without learning anything else. Core technology that provides privacy protection and scalability in blockchain.
Zero-knowledge proofs have various applications, including enhancing privacy in transactions, ensuring the integrity of data without revealing specifics, and enabling secure authentication without disclosing sensitive information. Different zero-knowledge proof systems exist, such as zk-SNARKs (Zero-Knowledge Succinct Non-Interactive Arguments of Knowledge) and zk-STARKs (Zero-Knowledge Scalable Transparent Arguments of Knowledge), each tailored for specific use cases and requirements.
